Investigation of Gonadosomatic index of Capoeta razii in Zav River, Golestan national park

Abstract

In this research, some biological characteristics including sex ratio and gonadosomatic index of Capoeta razii population were investigated from January to April 2016. Sampling was done on a monthly basis and 111 specimens were caught by Electrofisher. The sex ratio of the fish caught was 1.78:1. The highest mean gonadosomatic index (GSI) was found for both males and females in April, which was 4.62 and 7.39 for males and females, respectively. The maximum total length and weight of females were 198.00 mm and 120.53 gr, and for males 187.00 cm and 83.88 gr, respectively. The results showed that reproductive season of this species in the studied area in April.
